Students and employees should use common sense in making a decision to travel to the location of their classes. If the college is open, students are responsible for work missed in their classes and should use the contact information provided in the course syllabi to advise faculty of their absence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In some instances, evening classes may be canceled although day classes were held, or evening classes may be held even though day classes were canceled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Closing Announcements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Announcements will be made via the following outlets:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastcentral.edu\/campus-safety\/emergency-notification\/\">天涯社区log Alert<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Local radio stations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Television stations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>天涯社区log website<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>天涯社区log social media sites<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Early Dismissal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the College closes early, classes in session will conclude at the closing time regardless of when they begin (i.e., if 天涯社区log is closing at 4 p.m., a class that starts at 3:30 p.m. will end at 4 p.m. regardless of the regularly scheduled ending time).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If 天涯社区log has an early dismissal during the day, night classes will not be held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Late Start<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If inclement weather prevents the College from opening on time in the morning, but roads are expected to be passable later in the morning, the College may delay the start of classes.&nbsp; A delayed start means classes will begin at a later time in the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In-Progress Classes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For a class that may have begun before the late start time but continues past the late start time, students will attend that class&nbsp;<strong>in progress<\/strong>&nbsp;for the remainder of the scheduled class time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For instance, if the late start time is 9:30 a.m. and a class begins at 8 a.m. but ends at 11:30 a.m. students would arrive at 9:30 a.m. for the remainder of that scheduled class. A closing or late start due to snow\/ice, flooding or a threat from a tornado requiring those to take shelter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Major facility emergencies or evacuations, such as fire.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Safety threats in which an armed or dangerous person is at large on or near an 天涯社区log campus or location.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastcentral.edu\/campus-safety\/emergency-notification\/\">天涯社区log Alert<\/a>&nbsp;is a free service (except for charges from your mobile carrier) and is available to 天涯社区log students, employees, and other interested parties.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Road and weather conditions throughout the broad geographic region served by the college vary.
