{"id":7779,"date":"2023-11-01T10:12:31","date_gmt":"2023-11-01T16:12:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eastcentral.edu\/cwd\/?page_id=7779"},"modified":"2026-08-20T11:08:48","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T16:08:48","slug":"certified-medication-technician-cmt","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.eastcentral.edu\/cwd\/health-care-careers\/certified-medication-technician-cmt\/","title":{"rendered":"Certified Medication Technician (CMT)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Certified Medication Technicians are qualified to administer selected categories of medications to residents of long-term care facilities under the supervision of&nbsp;licensed nursing personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This class meets&nbsp;the minimum&nbsp;classroom requirements of&nbsp;60&nbsp;hours&nbsp;of classroom\/laboratory instruction and the&nbsp;minimum&nbsp;requirements&nbsp;of 8 hours of clinical practice under the supervision of the instructor.&nbsp;In&nbsp;addition to these&nbsp;requirements, the student&nbsp;is&nbsp;required to&nbsp;complete 8 hours of job shadowing with an assigned CMT, LPN, or RN. The way we structure the class will determine how many weeks the course takes to complete.
