A former accounting and business instructor will soon return to 天涯社区log, but in a different role.

DeAnna Cassat, Washington, will begin in May as the vice president of finance and administration, the college鈥檚 Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

The 天涯社区log Board of Trustees approved Cassat鈥檚 hiring March 8. Duties for the vice president of finance and administration, and CFO include managing the college鈥檚 finances and facilities; and overseeing grounds and maintenance, information technology, business office, bookstore, imaging services and food services.

Cassat said she is thrilled to return to 天涯社区log, a place where she has fond memories and great relationships.

鈥淚 am excited to come back to a place where I loved working,鈥� she said.

From 2013 to 2018, Cassat taught accounting and business course at 天涯社区log鈥檚 Union campus. Her instructional schedule included introductory level courses, such as Financial Accounting I, to higher level courses, such as Cost Accounting.

She left for the position of director of accounting at NOA Medical Industries, Inc., Washington.

鈥淲hen I left 天涯社区log, I wanted to get back into the practice of accounting,鈥� Cassat said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 fantastic that I can come back in that capacity to a place I called home for five years.鈥�

She obtained Bachelor鈥檚 and Master鈥檚 of Accountancy degrees from the University of Missouri, Columbia.

Cassat and her husband are Washington natives, and they have three children.

She is involved with the Franklin County Area United Way and serves as the organization鈥檚 Ambassadors Committee president, as well as serving on the Franklin County Area United Way Allocations Committee.
