  • Facilitate transfer visits, and marketing transfer opportunities through website and bulletin boards.
  • Responsible for career and technical related surveys, records and reports, including the 180 Day Follow Up Study of graduates.
  • Responsible for maintaining employment listings on virtual career platform that speak to all of the different degree programs and-pathways.
  • Provide academic advisement and career exploration services to prospective and current students on designated pathways caseload; pathways assignments will be reviewed annually.
  • Facilitate changes to schedule with designed pathways caseload; connect with each students planning to withdraw from a course(s) to engage in information gathering and coaching on best next steps.

AEL Integrated Education Instructor – Construction Career Path

log has an opening for a part-time Adult Education & Literacy (AEL) Integrated Education Instructor responsible for providing instruction in the AEL program for adult learners, update and create curriculum, create and schedule group instruction in the Construction Career Pathway. log has an opening for a part-time Fitness Center Assistant responsible for the daily operation of the Fitness Center by providing students with instructional use of equipment and fitness workouts required of the fitness courses.

This is a part time position not to exceed 19.75 hours per week.

Tentative work schedule is Monday & Tuesday 2:00pm – 6:30pm, Wednesday 12:15pm – 6:30pm, and Thursday 9am – 2pm.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.) 

  • Completion of Bachelors degree; Masters preferred.
  • One year related experience.
  • American Red Cross Certification in CPR and AED practices.

ESSENTIAL TASKS:(Employee must be able to perform the following essential functions to the satisfaction of the employee’s supervisor.)

  • Instruct students using acceptable levels of fitness training based on individual student needs.
  • Open and close the fitness center during weekly assigned day and or evening hours of the fall and spring semesters.
  • Maintain a good relationship with students and community users of the facility.
  • Keep accurate grading records of students in credit classes and track non-credit student use with specified computer software.
  • Clean and maintain a safe fitness workout facility for all users.
  • Remain visible and approachable to all fitness center participants (students, faculty, staff, and community members) at all times, and act as a resource by providing answers to questions or assistance as requested.
  • Assist with basic maintenance and upkeep of the facility, including vacuuming, picking up debris, and wiping equipment. Report equipment malfunctions or facility repair needs to the supervisor on duty.
  • Offer useful, tactful, and safe advice to individuals regarding their exercise program and/or use of equipment.
  • Insure safe workout environment.
  • Enforce facility policies/procedures.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.

Salary range: $16.04 – $20.82 per hour. While the full salary range is provided for growth potential, most new hires are initially placed within the lower portion of the range based on experience and institutional compensation guidelines. Position is level 102.

  • Set up, organize, and maintain laboratory materials, equipment, supplies, and related resources. Review laboratory exercises and demonstrations outlined in manuals and textbooks to determine feasibility and recommend modifications based on available equipment and resources while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Schedule preparation and set-up of laboratory exercises and demonstrations based on instructors’ syllabi including preparing and setting up equipment deemed to be too hazardous for students to handle.
  • Instructor(s) will discuss modifications in lab set-ups, and how to develop labs to demonstrate particular equipment, exercises or concepts.
  • Maintain the laboratory storage facility and an orderly storage area.
  • Store and dispose of hazardous wastes using procedures that insure safety and legal restrictions are met; assist in informing faculty and staff of proper procedures.  Maintain documentation in an organized, accessible fashion.
  • Assist with maintaining the laboratory in a clean and orderly fashion; maintain records on pieces of equipment. Maintain records of any equipment stored at off-campus storage locations.
  • Prepare, receive, unpack, and store apparatus, supplies, and special equipment, maintaining a permanent inventory record system of the kind, number, and costs of articles.
  • Consult instructor about making minor repairs as needed and/or coordinating repairs with outside agencies as required.
  • Assist faculty in the supervision of students in the laboratory and the oversight of their progress. Document progress as needed.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner with minimal supervision.

Work Study

log students have the opportunity to participate in the College’s work study program.  Students must be currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours, submit a FAFSA form and qualify for financial need. Financial Aid will determine eligibility and inform the student if they qualify for the work study program.

Students can earn $15.00 an hour working on-campus or off-campus.  The hours are flexible based on the students’ schedule and not to exceed 19.75 hours per week.
