Train to be a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) in just 12 weeks!
CMTs are employed in intermediate care and skilled care nursing facilities. They are responsible for providing direct care to residents in skilled nursing facilities and function under the supervision of a professional nurse within the parameters of state approved credentialing.
In this program, students will get a basic review of body systems and medication effects on each system, medical terminology, infection control and medication classifications. They will also learn skills in the administration of non-parenteral medications (orally or by inhalation). Students will receive 8-16 hours of job shadowing and 8 hours of clinical practice in an approved facility under direct instructor supervision. Upon completion of both classroom and clinical components, they will be eligible to take the state exam for Certified Medication Technician through the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
The total cost of this training is $1200, which includes the cost of the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). The $100 registration fee, included in the total class cost, is non-refundable.
Opportunities for financial assistance may be available upon registration.
